カリフォルニア州からやってきたクリストファーは、農妻と同じ高校を卒業したアメリカ人。
当農園では未成年を受け入れることはしませんが、たまたま同じ高校を卒業しているということで、クリストファーを受け入れることに。
 
彼の生まれ育った町については、農園主も農妻もよくわかっているので、町の話で盛り上がりました。子どもたちもクリストファーにとても懐いていたので、わかれがちょっぴり寂しかったです。
 
＜追記＞
その後、農妻がアメリカに行きました（2017年１月）。そして、懐かしい町で、大学生となったクリフトファーと、喜びの再会を果たしたのでありました。

フランスの大学に通うジセは、もともとカリブ海の小さな島で育った少年。その素朴な人柄で、子どもたちも動物たちも、みんな懐いたのでした。
 
 
＜感想＞
 
I don't really know where to start but once you come here be prepared to find another family and feel like home. They were my first host in Japan and I'm not disapointed at all.

During the morning, you work from 8 to 12:30 pm with a little break around 10:30. Most of the time, Ryo tries to vary the tasks and if there is something that you're not sure about just ask him and he will explain it to you. Working with him and also with Yasu, you will
learn a lot.

The afternoon is your free time. You can explore thee surroundings, go to a small onsen not far from the house (~20 min by walk) owned by very kind ladies or just do nothing. But sometimes you may have your three new little brothers wanting to play with you, so if you like kids you will be served. Spending time with them can be very instructive because they may show you what they know about nature. (For instance which type of grass you can eat ^^)

Yoko and even Ryo are very good cooks so you will enjoy traditional Japanese cooking, very tasty and healthy.

Now I just want to say thank you very much and I hope we will be able to see each others again in the futur.

将来自給自足的な暮らしがしたいとやってきた二人。いろんなことに興味を示しながら、たくさんお手伝いしてくれました。
馬耕も初挑戦。いろんなこと、初挑戦の日々でした。
私たちの農園をさっってすぐに、オーストラリアへワーホリのビザを持って、旅立って行きました。帰国したら、また会いたいお二人です。
 
 
＜光くんの感想＞
3週間滞在させていただきました。午前中のみ仕事、午後は自由に過ごすというスタイルに驚きました。ですが、やってみて凄く良かったので自分達も将来そういうスタイルで仕事をしたいなと思いました。ビニールハウス作り、堆肥まき、苗の定植、マルチ張り、軽トラの運転など色々させていただきました。ここのご家族はとても国際的です。奥様がアメリカに住んでいたことや、ご家族でニュージーランドに行ったことなど、色々なお話を聞けました。私達の滞在中もフランスの方と知り合いました。そしてそれだけでなく、近隣に住むホストさんの知り合いの方達にも会う機会があり、みなさんとても個性的で素敵な人達でした。古き良き日本の生活が、とても心地良かったです。朝は6:00頃起きて、夜は7時頃就寝。外に耳をすませば虫や動物の声。とても良い経験をすることができました。3人の息子さん達と、二匹の猫、一匹の看板犬が出迎えてくれますよ。本当に素晴らしい環境です。また来たいと思います。ありがとうございました。
 
＜さゆりちゃんの感想＞
こちらのホストさんに3週間お世話になりました。
初めてのWWOOFで緊張しながらのスタートでしたが、ご家族のあたたかさに救われました。
農業のお手伝いをしながら、野菜たちがどんどん成長していく姿や暑さにやられてしまっても復活する姿など見ていると、愛着が湧くのがわかります。農業の他にも、ご家族の生活・考え方・育児や地域の事など、良い話だけではなく大変だった話も笑いながら教えて下さり、学びの日々を送らせてもらいました。ホストさんだけでなくこの地域で暮らすお友達も素敵な方ばかりです。
自分たちがこれからやりたいことを実現していて、ウーファーの私たちの背中を押してくださる素敵なホストさんです。これからもお付き合いをしていけたらと思っております。ありがとうございました。

昨年ドイツからやってきたウーファーの千草のお兄さんが来てくれました。こんな風に、兄弟がやってきてくれるのも嬉しいです。温和な性格に、みんなの心が和みました。
 
＜ハヤトの感想＞
Hello my name is Hayato and I stayed for three weeks at yoko and ryo’s place.
It was a time like a dream that I will never forget. 
 
The room I got to stay in was huge and very beautiful having a traditional Japanese flair. And as it was located in the second floor, I had a good view of the surroundings. In addition, it had metal pipes to dry the washed cloths on.
 
The family is just great! The three children got immediately fond of me and chased me through the house and always wanted to ride on my shoulders. Ryo and Yoko were especially nice to me and helped me a lot and showed me a lot of new things. When I got ill, Yoko took care of me and even put a wet citrus soaked towel around my legs for my temperature (at that time 40 Degrees Celsius)  to drop.
Sometimes the children keita and kouske (the older two) would get into a fight. This is also really a spectacle one has to come to see when visiting Japan ☺. Describing it like a sudden hurricane wouldn’t do it justice ;-) Shortly after the fight the sun breaks through and everything returns back to normal.
 
The food… oh god… it was so delicious. As the farm is specialized on tomatoes and zucchini, you will get to eat them everyday and fresher as you have ever experienced before. One might think that eating the same vegis every day would become a nuisance but no, with the freshness and skilled cooking of Ryo and Yoko this is not going to happen!
 
The work at the farm is intense (at least for someone coming from the city) but also very short when compared to other farms. The usual time to get up is 7 (breakfast) and at 8:00 till about 12 or 1 you will work on one of their many different fields. The work varies a lot ranging from cutting weed, packaging, removing trees from the fields to planting seeds, distributing natural fertilizers and so on. Usually I got a new job every new workday which was quite refreshing.
 
Last but not least the family also has two cats and a dog which were just super cute!
I really loved my time here and will miss them all (especially the children).

１９歳の大学生（休学中）でしたが、外見も中身も全然１９歳ではありませんでした！なんて、大人なんでしょう！
農業のセンスもあるので、ボランティアが終わってから、今度はアルバイトでしばらく手伝ってもらいました。
子どもたちは、浩二くんが大好きで、学校や保育園から帰ってくるとすぐに浩二くんの姿を探していました。
 
＜浩二くんの感想＞
『THE 昔ながらの日本』の体験。

僕の２箇所目のWWOOFでした。
２箇所目にしてこんなに『来て良かった！』と思えるとは思いませんでした。ここのホストさんは本当の家族のように接してくれます。

仕事は大体４〜５時間です。それはウーファーがここでの生活をのんびりできるようにとの配慮があってです。でも正直な所、最初はなぜウーファーに対してそんなことまでするのか？が疑問でした。（１箇所目ののホストさんは１０時間も働いたことがありました。）
しかしよくよく話を聞いてみると、このホストさん自身もニュージランドでWWOOFをしており、ウーファーの気持ちもとてもわかるのだということがわかりました。
ウーファーの気持ちもわかるホストさんだからこそ、様々なことを教えてくれたり、体験させてくれたりします。

ここでの1日は、朝は早く起きて仕事をして、午後はのんびり過ごす。家の周りは山や川などの自然がたっぷりなのでハイキングをしたりもできるし（守屋山に登ったらとても気持ちいいです。）仕事の後には気持ちのいい温泉が近くにあります。（温泉には何度も行きました。ウーファーの人気スポットらしいです。）夜は夕食とともに家族の会話を楽しみます。（これがまた毎日笑いが絶えません。）時には近くのコミュニティでのイベントに行ったりして、いろんな人とのコミュニケーションをとります。（保育園のお祭りに行きました。）そして薪で沸かしたお風呂に入って、20〜21時には寝ます。

僕は２週間滞在してみて、これが『THE 昔ながらの日本』かもなぁと思いました。

もし『THE 昔ながらの日本』を体験してみたいって人にはうってつけのホストさんだと思います。

２週間という短い時間でしたが、皆さん本当にありがとうございました！
また遊びに行きますね！！
 
 
＜追記＞
夏の農繁期には戻ってきてくれて、アルバイトとしてしばらく一緒に働いてくれました。本当に働き者でありがたいです。

オーストリアから列車を乗り継ぎ、はるばる日本・長野まで辿り着いたヨハネス。タフな旅をしてきたとは思えないほど、温かく優しい雰囲気に包まれています。でも、働きぶりを見ると、本当にタフで、とってもありがたかったです。列車の旅の話や、ロシアを随分歩いて横断したことなど、旅話を聞かせてもらうのも楽しかったです。
 
 
＜ヨハネスの感想＞
I stayed at this hostfamily for almost 3 weeks and it was a very interesting time for me. The amount of work is ok, I had to start at 6 o clock and work until 12:30 with a long breakfast break and a snack break.
 
I had to pack and harvest zucchini and tomatoes, cutting grass in the green houses and similar things. Sometimes I had to cook or walk with the dog after working time. I could enjoy our fresh cooked vegetables every day and sometimes we had delicious fish or meat and a good beer or wine for dinner. Especially the weekends were really nice, as we went always twice a week somewhere into a city or out to the nature for a hike or barbecue.

The parents both speak english, especially the mother very well, because she used to be a japanese teacher in the USA. The family lives a very organic life, but it is a nice contrast to the city life. Sometimes it can be very lively here, as there are 2 cats, a barking dog and 3 very lifely young boys. But you can have a lot of fun with them, very nice kids! Altogether I had a very good time, being with this family.

人手が足りなくてピンチに陥った時に、やってきてくれたのは、京都在住のマーク。短い期間でしたが、忙しい時に助けてもらえて本当にありがたかったです。
 
 ＜マークの感想＞
I stayed with this host family for 5 days, and it was a very wholesome time. Work was from 6 am to 12:30 pm. During this time, I packed and harvested zucchinis and mini tomatoes. I had healthy, delicious meals with the family. In my free time, I went to an onsen with the kids and grandparents, and did a strenuous, but rewarding hike to the top of one of the nearby mountains. It's a very peaceful, laid back area where everyone knows each other pretty well, and the family is very tight knit and happy to welcome you into their home and community. When I left, I hitchhiked successfully for the first time! Very surprising.

Overall, a really splendid time, and am grateful to have stayed here.

ウィーンから列車を乗り継いでやってきたフィンバー。日本ではもっぱらヒッチハイクで移動している１９歳男子でした。
 
＜フィンバーの感想＞
I stayed with this host family for two weeks, and overall found it a worthwhile experience. The work was not too strenuous, the hours were easy, and the hosts and whole small village were very accomodating. The house is large and with very nice rooms for WWOOFers, but do keep in mind that with three young boys, two cats, and a dog, the noise and energy levels might be frustrating (and may wake you up, depending on your sleeping hours). Of course, the children are also nice to have around, being very friendly.

The food is all home cooked, traditional japanese, and wonderful. You may sometimes be asked to help out with its preparation and other small tasks outside of work hours, but nothing major.

イギリスからやってきたドイツ人とイギリス人のカップル。路上でライブ活動をしている二人は、農園の夜もライブを開いてくれました。優しいフォークソングが風とともに奏でられ、素敵な夜を過ごさせてくれました。残念ながら、５日目の朝、突然イギリスに戻ることになり、農園を去って行きましたが、二人の歌声は今でも農園を包んでくれているようです。

スイスからやってきたクリストフの職業は庭師。雑草を刈るのも、木を切るのも、楽しそうにやってくれました。デザインの仕事もされているようで、いただいた手作り名刺はとっても素敵でした。 英語が苦手だと言って、口数が少なかったのですが、母国語で話すときは、結構おしゃべりさんでした。
 
＜クリストフの感想＞
I stay for two weeks there. It was a bit a rainy time but we do the best on it. It was a very good experience to go there. The family have a very lively familylife. I was very fast part of it and i was very welcome there. The hosts are very open minded and sympatic persons. We had very delicious meals. In the second week came a wwofer from france. He is a mastercook. And so we had many culinary highlights. Merci beaucoup! The days passing very fast in this small village. Thank you for the good time

イタリアのインターナショナルスクールで教師をしているルークは、子供たちの相手が本当に上手！子供たちは学校や保育園から帰ってきたら、すぐにルークのところに行って、遊んでもらいました。
 
＜ルークの感想＞
I had a great time at this farm. The family is lovely and I learned a lot. They grow a variety of different vegetables to eat but they focus on tomatoes and zucchinis, as this is what they sell. The house is noisy at times, with three boys and three pets and you have to be comfortable with children to come here: they will want to get to know you! It was nice that the other WWOOFer and I had our own rooms upstairs away from the rest of the family; so that we had a bit of privacy and quiet if we needed it.

The hosts have been WWOOFers themselves and so know how to look after you: I was lent books, catered for as a vegan, did a variety of tasks and was allowed to take the truck out on my days off to visit local places. The surroundings are beautiful and I definitely recommend trying the Aikido lessons in the village, which were great!

フランスからやってきたシェフのジェレミー。時間があれば料理を作ってくれて、その美味しさにうっとりする私たち。
伊那市内にあるレストランkurabeさんでも腕をふるって、お客さんを楽しませてくれました。
 
＜追記＞
ジェレミーは、高知・沖縄・和歌山などを旅し、翌年帰ってきてくれて、１ヶ月ほど滞在してくれました。すっかり家族の一員です。
 
 
＜ジェレミーの感想＞ 
I stayed two month in this farm and well, there is a lot to say !!

First of all, I want to enlighten the kindness and disposability of the hosts that lives here. They want you to have a good stay, and to discover the most of Japan as you can, and seriously, they'll help you a lot in this way.
The work load is fine and there is a lot of things to do in this farm so don't worry if you're afraid of doing the same things all over again. This is not the case here !!
Hosts are cheerful, kind and they'll appreciate having a talk with you and learn about your country and culture.

Regarding activities, you definitely want to try the Aikido lesson with an outstanding "Sensei", and also relax at the local "Onsen". Nevertheless, hosts will do their best to help you feel good and enjoy your day off in the surroundings.

The house is great though, rooms for Wwoofers upstairs, so you can have your own privacy. They like to eat, as we all do so if you're coming with one of your country's specialty, they won't mind if you're cooking it !

Family is composed of 3 kids and 3 pets, so you definitely have to feel comfortable around small kids, and noisy environment as the they will want to know about you and play with you. But trust me, you may learn a lot about yourself too while being around them.

To conclude, I will recommend this place, because of Host's and the variety of works, as long as the activities in the surroundings and the possibilities that are offered to you.

＜ベンの感想＞
 
It’s always a pleasure to stay at this farm.
For me it’s already the third time and I’m sure it wasn’t the last. I’ve seen this place in almost every season except for spring. Summer is probably the most pleasant one in terms of temperature. It’s not too hot and not too cold; it’s just right. Nevertheless with the beginning of summer also the rainy season starts which means rain, rain and again rain. In contrast stands late autumn and winter. There is hardly rain or snow and one bright day follows the next. However, temperature plunges quite low in the Mountains of Nagano and the nights are icy cold. Fortunately the lively kids won’t let you rest so that you don’t get cold;-)
